Registered Nurse (RN) – Developmental & Behavioral Health - Travel Position
Location: Highland Hills, OH
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 365 days
Shift: 5x8 Evenings
Pay: $2,074/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care in Highland Hills, OH, a state-operated facility serving individuals with developmental and behavioral health needs.
This role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and support for individuals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The nurse will monitor health conditions, provide emergency care when necessary, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents and/or inmates in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
Observe, assess, and record patients’ symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Perform routine nursing rounds and record vital signs accurately.
Prepare and administer prescribed medications, immunizations, and treatment plans.
Monitor restrained or isolated patients and respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., first aid, CPR, or arranging hospital transport).
Participate in care planning, training, and orientation of new staff.
Perform and oversee specialized nursing procedures such as IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, and suctioning.
Maintain detailed documentation, including medical charts, incident reports, and controlled substance inventories.
Serve as lead nurse or shift supervisor when assigned.
Actively participate in staff meetings, development activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required:
Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio, issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Experience: Clinical experience providing direct nursing care in a developmental, correctional, or medical facility setting.
Skills:
Proficiency with medical equipment (e.g., stethoscope, otoscope, BP cuff, EKG machine).
Ability to write concise and accurate clinical documentation.
Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Physical fitness to perform direct care duties.
Training Requirements:
Licensure Renewal: Biennial renewal of RN license required to maintain employment eligibility.
