Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Pay: $2,901.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse provides high-quality nursing care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring and medical management of cardiac and post-surgical conditions. This role focuses on assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures such as PCI, pacemaker placement, and myocardial infarction. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective treatment, patient safety, and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including recognition and management of dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for patients post-PCI, pacemaker or AICD placement, and post-MI recovery.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform peripheral line management.
• Utilize oxygen delivery devices including nasal cannula, oxygen masks, and portable oxygen tanks; manage non-invasive airway support.
• Perform patient assessments and document changes in condition using Epic EMR.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activities.
• Implement infection control and isolation precautions to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Support education for patients and families on post-treatment care and recovery.

Qualifications

• Active New York RN license — must be in hand (no exceptions).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required.
• Certifications: BLS (required), ACLS (strongly preferred).
• Epic charting experience required.
• Must be able to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 on a 26-bed telemetry unit.
• Must be able to work every other weekend and no RTO allowed from 12/24 to 12/28.
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted).
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
