Location: Arlington, TX
Assignment Type: Travel
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4x10 Days
Pay: $2,750.80/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The RN is responsible for assisting physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, pacemaker insertions, and other procedures requiring advanced cardiovascular monitoring. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, technical expertise, and the ability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
  • Monitor hemodynamic data, ECG rhythms, and patient status throughout the procedure.
  • Assist physicians with sterile procedures, contrast injections, and device placements.
  • Administer IV medications, sedation, and emergency drugs according to established protocols.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems and defibrillators.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care.
  • Document assessments, procedures, medications, and patient responses accurately in the EMR.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and infection control standards in procedural environments.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Texas or Compact State).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Cath Lab or Critical Care experience required.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA required).
  • Proficient in monitoring cardiac rhythms, interpreting EKGs, and managing sedation and emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, pharmacology, and sterile technique.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment and respond to emergencies.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
