Job Title: RN – Correctional (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)
Location: Estancia, NM

Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 88 days
Shift: 3×12 Days
Pay: $2,460.96/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care, including executing Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) orders, administering medications, and assisting in patient examinations and treatments. This role requires applying nursing and supervisory techniques in the care and treatment of inmates/residents within a correctional facility. The RN performs all clinical procedures within the scope of licensure and ensures compliance with facility and CoreCivic policies and procedures.
Conduct assessments of inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries and refer to appropriate healthcare facilities as needed.
Attend sick calls with the physician, prepare lists of inmates/residents to be examined, and maintain exam rooms and equipment.
Administer and document medications in accordance with facility policy.
Provide supervision and guidance to LVNs/LPNs and unlicensed medical staff.
Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of medical records.
Monitor inmate hospitalizations for potential early releases when appropriate.
Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation related to medical care and compliance.
Ensure adherence to pharmacy laws, especially those related to controlled substances.
Participate in emergency response procedures and provide health education as needed.
Support accreditation efforts (NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO) and uphold standards of patient care and safety.
Licensure: Active RN license in the state of New Mexico
Certifications: BLS (required)
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred (correctional or acute care setting)
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
