Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN) - Travel Position
Location: Lexington, KY
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Nights
Pay: $2335/week
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with life-threatening conditions, complex medical needs, and those requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, quick decision-making abilities, and excellent communication skills while collaborating closely with physicians, specialists, and the multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Monitor, assess, and document patients’ conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and response to treatments.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
Manage ventilators, invasive lines, drips, and advanced life-support equipment with precision and safety.
Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and emergency situations, initiating appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety policies, and ethical standards of care.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Active RN license in Kentucky
BLS and ACLS certifications required
1+ years of ICU experience
