Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Pay: $2,077.20/week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Bismarck, ND. This position is located in a 30-bed Med Surg unit (3CC), where the nurse will provide comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment administration.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care according to physician orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor patient status and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary staff to provide coordinated care.
• Respond to emergencies and implement necessary interventions.
• Float to other units as needed to support facility staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Dakota (or compact license).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support.
• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a 30-bed Med Surg unit while managing diverse patient needs.
