Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Location: Bismarck, ND
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Nights
Pay: $2,077.20/week

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Bismarck, ND. The Med Surg Nurse will provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions in a 30-bed unit. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment that requires strong clinical and organizational skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care including assessment, monitoring, and implementation of physician-ordered treatments.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and wound care in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and responses to treatment accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform interventions as needed.
  • Float to other units as assigned when staffing support is required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in North Dakota (or compact license).
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a 30-bed unit and support a diverse patient population.
