Acute Care Physical Therapist - Travel Position  
Location: Tucson, AZ 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 5x8 hrs/Dys 
Pay: $2304/week  

Job Description:  

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our hospital-based team. The Acute Care PT provides essential rehabilitative services to patients in a fast-paced, inpatient setting, working with individuals who are critically ill, recovering from surgery, or managing a new medical condition. This role focuses on early mobilization, discharge planning, and preventing deconditioning. The ideal candidate has strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to work independently, and excels at collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely patient discharge.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Evaluate patient mobility, strength, balance, and functional status at the bedside.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs and goals.
  • Provide early and progressive mobilization for patients in the ICU, Med-Surg, and other acute care units.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other therapists to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families on safe mobility techniques and home exercise programs.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) and support services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.

Qualifications:  

  • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in [State].
  • Doctoral or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric physical therapy setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
