Shift: 3×12 Nights
Pay: $2,228.40/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment at a healthcare facility in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate will have strong neurocritical care experience and be highly skilled in caring for patients with complex neurological and post-surgical conditions. This role involves managing high-acuity patients in a collaborative, fast-paced ICU setting.
Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill neuro and post-surgical patients.
Manage ventilated patients, central lines, and arterial lines.
Administer and titrate IV drips, vasopressors, and sedatives per protocol.
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
Respond rapidly to emergencies and initiate life-saving interventions.
Monitor and manage patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, CRRT, and Arctic Sun therapy.
Provide care for post-craniotomy, post-neurosurgery, and post-cardiac arrest patients.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation in EPIC.
Adhere to infection control and safety standards consistent with evidence-based ICU practice.
Current and valid RN license (Kentucky or Compact State).
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience, including strong Neuro ICU background.
Travel experience required.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Proficiency with EPIC charting system.
Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
