Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ED) (Travel Assignment)

Pay: $2,199.60/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and energetic Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Conroe, Texas. The RN will provide immediate and skilled nursing care to patients presenting with medical, surgical, or trauma emergencies in a 30-bed emergency department.

This facility serves a high-volume patient population and is equipped to manage both minor and critical emergencies. The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills, proficiency in moderate sedation, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and provide emergency care for patients with acute and life-threatening conditions.
• Perform and assist with procedures such as conscious/moderate sedation and line insertions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as ordered.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient vital signs, recognizing and responding to emergent changes.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Meditech EMR system.
• Operate and maintain bedside monitoring and IV equipment.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and facility policies.
• Float as needed within the emergency department or similar-acuity units.
• Work four weekend shifts per schedule as required.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience (required).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC (required).
• Strong proficiency in moderate sedation, IV therapy, and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Experience with Meditech EMR (preferred).
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
